Save Saunderton AONB Action Group is managed by a group of concerned local residents from the Bledlow-cum-Saunderton parish. These include Kim Martin, Peter Smith and David Howlett. All of us can be contacted via this email or via the phone number 07738 442112.
Save Saunderton AONB and this website have been set up to share what we know, encourage debate, and participate in the planning process effectively. We appreciate the need for new housing and we'd like newcomers to the area as well as people from the local area to be able to live here happily in appropriate housing. We believe that Green Belt and AONB status have been applied to various areas of our countryside for very good reason, and we believe a lot more can be done with in-fill opportunities in rural areas, and a larger number of small scale developments, rather than the huge scale being planned in the Greater Saunderton draft plans. Following the abandonment of the large scale plans to build Greater Saunderton, we will continue to work with the local community through the Appeal process for the 212 houses proposed on the former Molins site. We strongly believe in the importance of sustainable housing, and that includes due regard to local transport consequences, and all other amenities such as schooling, shops, doctor's surgeries etc. Most importantly, and with regard to the Molins brownfield site, we do believe that employment opportunities should be explored far more actively, and change of use to residential should not be an automatic step in the process without full local consultation. More information is kept here. We strongly support the development of the Neighbourhood Plan by Bledlow-cum-Saunderton Parish Council but this process is only really successful with residents' input.
We strive to keep this information up-to-date and accurate. Please do let us know if there are inaccuracies or any new information you are aware of.
Fighting Fund Donations
Thank you to all those who have already made donations to MAG's Fighting Fund. We do however need more households to contribute if we are to raise sufficient funds from our suggested £50 per household donation across the Bledlow-cum-Saunderton Parish. To remind you, the Fund is purely to meet the third party costs MAG expects to incur including, amongst others, setting up our new website (domain fees & hosting charges), producing campaign flyers and paying for various future professional fees to support our case . Such professional fees are likely to be for specialised studies (e.g. transport and traffic studies) and Legal Counsel's opinions on planning law matters.
